June 2018 Activities: Past, Present, & Future
Happy June everyone! Oh Boy, does it feel like summer already! We are looking forward to going outside more often and playing exciting summer games. Speaking of games, some of the residents are taking a trip to the Kernels baseball game on June 6th. Thanks to many donations, some fundraising, and the Winslow House facility, the residents are able to travel by bus to and from the game, and have their lunch, as well as their tickets all paid for! We are so very excited as this is one of our biggest trips of the year! We are also looking forward to more fundraising opportunities to come this Summer and Fall.
We had a fantastic month of May with all sorts of games, entertainment, socials as well as fun arts and crafts. Thank you everyone that came out to enjoy some “Muffins with Mom” on Mother’s Day. The ladies said they had a great time with their families on their special day.
We now invite families to stop on by Father’s Day, June 17th, for “Donuts with Dad”. This will be held from 2pm-3pm in our dining room. I am excited for this event this year as our Employee of the Month, Tanner, will be hosting it. I also would like to announce that I am going on vacation from June 14th -20th and Tanner has been kind enough to volunteer to assist with activities while I am away. We have quite a few activities planned around Father’s Day and the men that reside at Winslow House. Please check out the activity calendar for more info.
Thank you everyone that has been following our Winslow House Care Center’s Facebook page. The residents love to get their pictures taken during activities more often now that they know their families can see the fun they are having. Check out our new website as well. Please visit www.winslowhousecarecenter.com to receive all the latest up to date information. I will post our monthly activity calendars and our newsletter on this website. If you would like to receive our newsletter via e-mail please subscribe and it will be sent to you automatically. We do plan on phasing out the paper copies of our newsletters by August 1st, 2018. If you do not have an e-mail and still wish to have a paper copy sent to you, please contact me for further information.
