Happy October!

This coming month we have many fun Halloween themed activities! We will play witches’ hat ring toss, “boo”ling, and ghost bag toss exercise games. A pumpkin magazine collage and Jack-O-Lantern crafts will be hung in the window for all to enjoy during our Halloween Trunk-or-Treat. As well as decorating pumpkins, a Halloween party, pumpkin patch bingo, and making a caramel apple snickers salad with Kiana!

We are also going to be showing some appreciation for pets by making no-sew blankets and t-shirt chew toys that will be donated to the local Cedar Valley Humane Society Shelter. If you have a couple clean, old t-shirts that you’re thinking of getting rid of, please give a call at 319-377-8296 or email lblekeberg@winslowhousecarecenter.com if you would like to donate toward this cause instead!

Friday October 29th all residents and staff wear your best Halloween costumes! We will be voting on the top resident and staff costumes with prizes awarded for overall best and spookiest. The votes will be counted, and prizes given the following Monday!

Halloween is fast approaching! Although it will look different from years past, we will be celebrating Halloween on October 29th with a Trunk-or-Treat! Staff are invited to decorate their vehicles in the parking lot and will have candy to give to trick-or-treaters around 2 pm on Friday. We invite the community, staff, and residents to have your family, children, and grandchildren come out to Winslow House wearing your best Halloween costumes for residents to view! We will also make ghost lollipops for each window on the front side of the building for the children to enjoy! We look forward to seeing you all here!
