From the Administrator's Desk
Dear Families and Friends,
I know you are concerned about the spread of COVID-19 and how it may impact us at Winslow House Care Center. Making sure our residents are cared for in a safe and healthy environment is our top priority. As our state experiences more outbreaks, I wanted to update you on how we are doing at Winslow House Care Center. I’m fortunate to be able to tell you we DO NOT have an active case of COVID-19.
Your loved one and our staff are incredibly important. We have taken several measures to protect them. As you know this includes restricting outside guests. Family, friends, and volunteers are not visiting the facility. Staff temperatures are taken, and they are asked screening questions at the beginning and end of their shift. Anyone with respiratory symptoms, such as a fever, will be restricted from entering the building. In addition, we have educated staff to practice appropriate social distancing and safe practices during their off-work time. Within the building, we have evaluated our infection control practices and we’re proactively securing personal protective equipment (PPE) minimizing potential risk factors. As part of this process we inventory our PPE supply weekly and have provided our staff with necessary PPE.
Staff continue to look for fun ways to brighten resident spirits by reaching out to family and friends, encouraging you to send cards or letters, communicating via Facebook, Facetime, and window visits. If you have not taken part in any of the above activities, we encourage you to. We are happy to schedule a time to help you connect with your loved one.
Our staff at Winslow House Care Center are truly healthcare heroes! Throughout this process we are providing care packages to show staff how much their hard work and dedication is appreciated.
In closing, thank you for your continued support to Winslow House Care Center. Together we will get through this.
Dallas Urbain, Administrator
