Hello everyone,
My name is Julie Merritts. I am the new Director of Nursing here at Winslow. I have over 30 years of nursing experience. I worked 15 years at Mercy Medical Center and 15 years in the long-term setting in management positions. I knew at a young age that I wanted to help people. My first job was at 15 as a dietary aide in a care center. I then decided to take a CNA class at my high school. This was when I really decided I wanted to become a nurse. I then worked as a CNA while I put myself through nursing school. I am very compassionate about being a nurse and giving the best care possible to my residents.
In my spare time, I do teach CNA classes at Kirkwood. I enjoy being a teacher and being a mentor for the students. I also enjoy spending time with my family. I have a Husband named Kyle, 2 girls, 2 stepchildren, and a dog. I look forward to meeting all of you and getting to know you and your loved ones. I am very excited to be a part of a great team!
